Masamune Shirow
One of my favourite artists. Known for his erotic pictures and more famously his manga series Ghost in the Shell. The manga was such a hit since then it has been turned into 2 movies and 2 series now starting the third.
Ghost in the Shell is essentially what the film the matrix was based on. I do believe that the people who wrote the matrix actually worked on Ghost in the Shell for a while. The matrix is not an original idea!
I myself have the 2 films.
Both films are visually stunning, i would highly suggest you watch them!
