Memoirs of a Geisha

Memoirs of a Geisha

The tale of an extraordinary geisha in the life of Japan's war and struggle to survive.

Taken when she was a child, sold to a house who raises and trains girls to become geisha. In return for the up bringing geishas bring in the money for the house.

The kindness of a stranger turns her life around and she decides that she will become the best geisha in all of Japan and one day find him.

To my extreme delight this was made into a film in 2005.

The Witches

The Witches by Roald Dahl

My favourite of any Roald Dahl books has to be this. I never
read it as a child i read it when i was in my teens and i still loved it, it proves that you don't have to be a child to imagine the world of Roald Dahl.
It is also been made into a film in 1990.

Other books by Roald Dahl are:
The BFG
BOY:Tales of childhood
Charlie and the chocloate factory
Charlie and the great Glass elevator
